Emory Healthcare's (formerly DeKalb Medical) Volunteer Program is a vital part of our organization and is not just for retirees! In fact, our volunteers are men and women of all ages – people in their teens, 20s, 30s and beyond. The contribution of time and caring made by our volunteers enables us to provide patients with an even higher level of care and attention. At Emory Decatur Hospital, Emory Hillandale Hospital, or Emory Long-Term Acute Care, volunteers support our various departments, gift shop, wayfinding (Concierge Volunteers), visit patient rooms, and provide visitor support in the ICU and surgery waiting rooms. Four hours of service per week is the minimum amount of time requested. Attendance at quarterly training and in-service meetings is also required. Whether you're interested in healthcare or simply are looking for a rewarding experience, we think you'll find what you're looking for as a volunteer at one of our facilities.

Teens 14 – 18 years old (having completed the 9th grade), may participate in the VolunTEEN Program during the summer months of June & July. Applications are available online beginning the second week in January. A transcript with a minimum GPA of 3.0, two letters of recommendation, a medical clearance form from their physician and a copy of current vaccination records must be submitted prior to the February 28th deadline.
